Name
Grimy before shiny: why you should maximise existing asset performance to ensure new technologies have the best chance of succeeding
Authors
Oliver Hallett and Duncan Allison, Air Technology Ltd, UK
Description
An argument for asset owners to concentrate efforts first on getting their existing assets performing at a high level prior to installing new experimental or unproven equipment. Whilst maximising existing assets is the aim the presentation is not intended to demonise new technology. Instead, it is to show how new technology can be targeted to sites and situations where existing high performing assets can benefit most from it- thereby increasing the chances for new technology to have a meaningful measurable impact.
